Four killed, including two teenagers in separate DC shootings

A violent day in the nation’s capital left four people dead Tuesday, including two teenagers. 

Southeast double shooting 

Timeline:

D.C. police responded to a double shooting at Meadowbrook Run in Southeast around 7 p.m. Officers found two teenage boys — one 17 years old and the other 16 — suffering from gunshot wounds.

The 16-year-old was rushed to the hospital, while the 17-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not made any arrests and are searching for a suspect.

This shooting marked the fourth homicide of the day in Washington, D.C., bringing the total for the year to 18.

Navy Yard shooting 

Just after 5:15 p.m., officers responded to a separate shooting inside an apartment complex in Navy Yard on First Street. A man was found with gunshot wounds and later died from his injuries. Investigators believe the shooting stemmed from a domestic dispute and was an isolated incident.

A man was shot and killed Tuesday afternoon inside an apartment at the Park Riverside complex in Southeast D.C., according to police.

A longtime resident of the complex said crime in the area has become a persistent issue.

"In the Navy Yard area in general, unfortunately, it’s not surprising," the resident said. "We just don’t have enough police presence."

Teen shot, killed in Northwest

Around 8:30 Tuesday morning, police discovered 19-year-old Khamani Hicks of Rockville suffering from multiple gunshot wounds  on Congress Street in Southeast. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The first fatal shooting was reported by police just after midnight. D.C. police officers found 22-year-old E’Zell Hill dead on 16th Street Northwest. Police issued a lookout for a dark-colored Toyota sedan, but no suspect information has been released.

Authorities are continuing to investigate all four homicides and urge anyone with information to come forward.
