No charges for 2 police officers who shot, killed DC violence interrupter

No charges will be filed against two D.C. police officers who shot and killed a man in Southeast D.C., the U.S. Attorney's Office for D.C. says. The USAO said there was insufficient evidence to pursue federal criminal civil rights or charges in D.C. against the officers who fatally shot 25-year-old Justin Robinson on Sept. 1, 2024. 

USAO says their office, along with D.C. Police’s Internal Affairs Division, conducted a comprehensive review of physical evidence, surveillance video footage, body-worn camera footage, audio and visual recordings from nearby video cameras, witness accounts, autopsy records and MPD reports.

Bond denied again for Manassas woman accused of killing husband in domestic dispute

A Manassas mother who works as a pharmacist was denied bond Tuesday after she was indicted with murdering her husband, Curtis Crabbe. But lawyers for the suspect, LaToya Crabbe, argue that she was acting in self-defense as she now awaits trial.

Bond has been denied multiple times for LaToya Crabbe, including Tuesday morning, just days after a grand jury indicted her and an early March trial date has been set.

DC couple survives violent carjacking attempt

A couple is in the hospital recovering from serious injuries after an attempted carjacking in Northwest D.C. on Monday night. 

It happened just after 8 p.m. in the Brightwood neighborhood. The couple was sitting and talking in their car on Colorado Ave. NW when they said someone came up to them wearing a mask and demanded their vehicle. As they began to drive off, the suspect fired a weapon at them.

The 21-year-old victim's mother and stepmother spoke exclusively with FOX 5, telling us their daughter and her boyfriend were both shot five times each.

Video appears to show former Maryland principal stomping on foot of kindergartner with autism

A new video has surfaced allegedly showing a principal stomping on the foot of a kindergarten student with autism. The incident reportedly occurred last year at Ritchie Park Elementary School in Montgomery County. Andrew Winter, who was reassigned to Rock Creek Valley Elementary before withdrawing, is now at the center of controversy.

FOX 5's Melanie Alnwick reports that parents at Rock Creek Valley claim Winter's appointment as assistant principal was made without transparency or community input. Alnwick says the video of the incident that led to his prior assault charge recently surfaced.

3 officers shot, suspect dead in DC shooting: police

D.C. police say three officers are in stable condition after being shot by a gunman inside an apartment building in northeast Washington. The shooting occurred around 4:30 a.m. at the i-5 Union Market apartment building in the 300 block of Florida Avenue.

Metropolitan Police Department Chief Pamela Smith said officers responded to a report of a man with a gun who fired shots inside of the lobby. When officers arrived, they made contact with the suspect who suddenly ran and fled into an elevator. Additional officers responded to the scene, and a few minutes later, the suspect reemerged from the elevator.
