Two people shot, killed in Capitol Heights home
CAPITOL HEIGHTS, Md. - Two people were found shot to death inside a Prince George's County home early Wednesday morning, police said. It happened in the 4700 block of Omaha Street in Capitol Heights.
Authorities said they received a call for shots fired at about 3 a.m. When officers arrived at the home, they found two adults, identified as 64-year-old Dan Leake and 62-year-old Wilhelmina Leake, dead inside.
Police said the victims suffered multiple gunshot wounds. Investigators said their deaths did not appear to be random and they were working to determine a motive and suspects.
FOX 5 reporter Annie Yu was at the scene, where additional police officers and a forensics unit arrived at about 5 a.m. Police blocked off a large section of Omaha Street around the home with crime scene tape.
A vehicle was towed away from the scene before 7 a.m. Police said it was part of the investigation.
Officers were going door-to-door Wednesday morning talking to witnesses who may have seen or heard something. Neighbors told FOX 5 they heard nothing.
