Troopers injured in crash while searching for suspected impaired driver
UPPER MARLBORO, Md. - Maryland State Police officials say two troopers were injured in a crash overnight as they responded to a call for an impaired motorist driving the wrong direction down a Prince George's County highway.
Authorities say one trooper rear-ended the other around midnight while they were driving separate patrol cars on southbound Route 4 near Green Landing Road in the Upper Marlboro area.
The vehicle of the trooper who was struck went across a median and down an embankment.
Both officers suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The suspected impaired driver was later arrested by a Maryland Natural Resources Police officer.
