Tractor-trailer fire causes delays on Interstate 270 in Montgomery County

GAITHERSBURG, Md. (FOX 5 DC) - A tractor-trailer fire caused early morning delays Wednesday in Montgomery County along the southbound lanes of Interstate 270 in the Gaithersburg area.
Images posted online by Montgomery County Fire Department spokesman Pete Piringer show flames at the top of the truck while firefighters work to extinguish the fire from the side.
Piringer says the fire was reported around 5 a.m. along the southbound lanes of Interstate 270 near Clopper Road between Route 124 (Montgomery Village Avenue) and Interstate 370.
No injuries were reported. Several lanes of Interstate 270 were closed.
