Teen turns himself in following shooting near Dunbar High School

WASHINGTON - A teenager surrendered to police Wednesday after allegedly shooting a 17-year-old girl during an attempted robbery near Dunbar High School.
Justice Thomas, 18, of Northeast D.C. is now being charged with assault with a dangerous weapon. But police are still searching for more suspects.

According to the Metropolitan Police Department, the shooting happened around 3:02 p.m. in the 200 block of Morgan Street NW.
The victim, a Dunbar High School student, was transported to a local hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
After being shot, she managed to get to the school for help, police said.
MPD said two suspects attempted to rob the girl at gunpoint when a third suspect — believed to be Thomas — exited a vehicle, leading to an exchange of gunfire.
Officers found multiple shell casings at the scene, and two vehicles were damaged by bullets.
A vehicle linked to the suspects was last seen traveling eastbound on the 100 block of N Street NW.
Police are urging anyone with information about the case to contact MPD.
