Suspicious package investigation causes classes to be canceled at Howard Community College

Classes were canceled Monday night at Howard Community College as authorities investigated a suspicious package.

Officials say two buildings were evacuated at around 6:45 p.m. after the suspicious package found in the east parking garage was reported to security.

Students were allowed to leave campus, but those parked in the garage were moved or had to wait at two other buildings on campus for their vehicle.

The college notified all students about the cancellation of classes at around 7:30 p.m.

The all-clear was given at around 9:15 p.m., according to the school.
