Suspect in custody for making bomb threat at Fairfax County Starbucks, police say

A man is now in police custody after a bomb threat prompted the evacuation of a Fairfax County Starbucks, according to police.

Investigators say they were called to the Starbucks on Arlington Road after an intoxicated man refused to leave the coffee shop and said he had a bomb in his backpack.

While customers were evacuated from the store, the suspect remained inside while police worked to find a peaceful conclusion to the situation.

Fairfax County police said they were able to get the suspect into custody. Investigators say they do not believe the threat to be credible and are now working with a bomb squad to confirm that the shop is clear.

Police ask those nearby to avoid the area while they continue their investigation.
