Suspect in custody after officer injured responding to domestic disturbance call in Fredericksburg
FREDERICKSBURG, Va. - A Fredericksburg police officer was injured after responding to a domestic-related incident Monday evening, officials said.
Fredericksburg police said they received a 911 call at around 5:40 p.m. Monday for a report of a domestic disturbance in the 1900 block of Airport Avenue.
A patrol officer was hurt shortly after arriving at the scene and was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The officer was later released from the hospital after being treated, according to police.
Police said they have taken a suspect into custody and charges are pending.
Virginia State Police are investigating the incident.
