Suspect armed with gun shot in officer-involved shooting, DC police say
WASHINGTON - A suspect was wounded in a police-involved shooting in Southeast D.C. Monday evening, according to D.C. police.
Police say officers responded to the 2600 block of Naylor Road for a drug investigation call. When police arrived at the scene, the suspect ran away leading to a chase.
During the chase, police say the suspect produced a gun and an officer shot him in the lower extremities.
Police say a weapon was recovered.
The suspect's injuries are not believed to be non-life-threatening, police say.
In a separate incident, police said there was a double shooting around 11 pm in the 3000 block of Naylor Road SE. In that case, two men were shot-- one in the leg and chest, and one in the hand. Both men were expected to survive.
Police said they were on the lookout for a black Audi SUV with DC tag #FJ3671 in connection to the second shooting.
