Steady rain moves out Thursday morning; some sun before threat of storms returns this evening

Heavy and steady morning rain Thursday across the D.C. region as wet weather is expected to be in the area for most of the day. FOX 5's Mike Thomas says we'll get a break from the showers -- and could even see some sunshine - during the early afternoon before the threat of more storms rolls back in our direction.

The steady rain began overnight and is expected to last through the morning commute into the 9 a.m. hour. Highs should be close to 80 degrees and we can even expect some sun breaking in through the clouds this afternoon.

The second round of wet weather will move into our region around the 5 p.m. hour bringing the potential for scattered thunderstorms and possibly some gusty winds.

Friday looks sunny and mild, Saturday looks dry with temperatures in the low 80s and Sunday looks hot with the chance for spotty storms.
