State police ID pedestrian who was struck and killed in Prince George's County

State police have identified a Waldorf man who was struck and killed while he walked along Crain Highway in Upper Marlboro early Sunday morning.

According to investigators, Adrian Harris, 26, was walking south in the travel lane when he was struck by a Chevy Cruz.

The driver told investigators that he thought he'd struck a deer. He pulled over after the collision and activated his OnStar Services feature. According to police, because he thought he'd hit a deer, the driver refrained from calling an ambulance.

When state police arrived at the scene around 5:38 a.m., they found Harris' body.

Emergency crews that responded to the scene determined that Harris was dead.

Investigators do not believe drugs or alcohol were involved.
