Spring preview with temperatures in the upper 60s expected Tuesday for DC region

Spring-like temperatures are making it easy to forget the bitter cold air that gripped much of the region not too long ago!

Tuesday started off a little cloudier than Monday but temperatures are expected to climb into the upper 60s -- possibly close to 70 degrees -- before the day is through. FOX 5's Mike Thomas says the warm air will stick around thought the end of week giving us an extended preview of spring.

A cold front that is approaching will bring showers to areas to the west of D.C. and will cool temperatures slightly on Wednesday. But we're back into the 60s on Thursday and Friday, Thomas said. Some hit-or-miss showers are in the forecast for both days.

A changing weather pattern will bring much colder air into the region this weekend. Temperatures will drop back into the 40s by Saturday and will stay there into the following week.

So get out there and enjoy Tuesday - it will be the nicest day of the week!
