Spotsylvania County sheriff’s deputies investigating shooting that left 1 dead, 1 in critical condition

SPOTSYLVANIA COUNTY, Va. - Spotsylvania County sheriff’s deputies are investigating a shooting that left one person dead and another in critical condition.

The sheriff’s office responded to the scene in the 9900 block of Matti Hill Court around 9 p.m. Monday night.

When they arrived, they found one of the victims dead.

Shortly afterward, the sheriff’s office received a report that another victim of gunfire had arrived a local hospital, this one in critical condition. 

Investigators were still at the scene early Tuesday morning.

They believe the incident is isolated and there is now threat to the public.

They expect to provide more details later in the day.
