Son charged in mother's murder in Rockville
ROCKVILLE, Md. (FOX 5 DC) - A 26-year-old Rockville man is under arrest for the murder of his mother on Tuesday.
Montgomery County police have charged 26-year-old Ousmane Camara with first-degree murder in connection with the death of 52-year-old Arabia Camara.
Police say that at around 7:43 a.m. Tuesday morning, they received a request to check on the woman after she didn't show up for work.
"Her co-workers were concerned, asked if we would go check on her so we sent officers over here and found her deceased inside the residence," said Captain Tom Jordon with Montgomery County police.
When they arrived at her home, they found Ousmane Camara inside the residence and observed blood and cuts on his hands.
Afterwards, they located Arabia Camara dead inside the home with apparent trauma to her body.
Ousmane Camara was taken to a local hospital to have the cuts on his hands treated - and then jailed without bond.
Neighbors say the woman who lived at the 13600 block of Marianna Drive in the Aspen Hill-Rockville area has a son and two daughters and worked as a housekeeper at a downtown hotel.
Investigators towed one car from the scene and detectives at one point appeared to be taking garbage cans inside the house. It's unclear why.
According to court documents, Ousmane Camara had a lengthy record of violent crimes, including robbery.
