Sketch of man suspected of chasing down, raping woman in Montgomery Village released by police
Police have released a composite sketch of a man they say chased down and raped a woman in Montgomery Village over the weekend.
Detectives say the computer generated sketch is based upon the victim's description of the attacker. Officers say the witness described the suspect as a white male in his late 20s with brown hair, approximately 6-feet tall, and weighing about 180 pounds.
Officers say the incident occurred on April 20 around 10:15 p.m. as the victim got off a Ride-On bus in the area of the 19300 block of Watkins Mill Road. Police say the woman tried to run from the attacker but he chased her down and forced her into a wooded area where he raped her.
The victim fled and notified police when she went to a nearby hospital.
In 2017, a woman was attacked in a similar manner near a bus stop on Watkins Mill Road at Travis Lane in the Gaithersburg area. Police released this composite image of the suspect that was created using the man's DNA.
Anyone with information about the incident or who thinks they may recognize the suspect based on the sketch is asked to contact police at 240-773-5400.
