Several hurt in Gaithersburg crash

GAITHERSBURG, Md. - Several people were hurt Friday afternoon in a serious crash involving three cars in Gaithersburg. Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services spokesman Pete Piringer tweeted that at least five people were injured, and the crash involved an entrapment.

The accident happened at Olney-Laytonsville Road and Fieldcrest Road. Piringer said some lanes were blocked as a result and emergency crews were evaluating at least five patients at the scene.

There's no word on what led to the crash or how severely those involved were injured.
