See where DC, Maryland, and Virginia schools rank in list of 'Best High School' in US

The list of top high schools in the country is out and several schools in our region made the cut.

U.S. News published the list which included data on 21,000 public high schools in 50 states and in D.C.

The top school on the list is the School for the Talented and Gifted in Dallas, Texas.

Out of the top 100 schools in the country - the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Alexandria, Virginia came in at 5.

Walt Whitman High School in Bethesda, Maryland came in at 63.

At 88, the School Without Walls High School In D.C. and at 94, Winston Churchill High School in Potomac, Maryland.

The state of Maryland was also awarded for having one of the highest percentages of top performing high schools in the country.
