Second arrest made in slaying of Virginia Tech football player's brother

A second person has been arrested for the murder of a 25-year-old Southeast D.C. man.

Police have charged 22-year-old Khalil Davis, of Southeast D.C., with first-degree murder while armed of Omar Rodgers.

Rodgers was found by officers shot inside a vehicle in the 1300 block of Good Hope Road on Oct. 8. He was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Last week, police also charged 21-year-old Michael Leonard Jones, of Bladensburg, Maryland, with first-degree murder while armed for Rodgers' killing.

Rodgers is the older brother of Virginia Tech football player Sean Savoy, a D.C. native who was a standout player at Woodrow Wilson High School.
