Season of Wishes: 15-year-old boy who battled cancer becomes Wizards player thanks to Make-A-Wish
WASHINGTON - We want to introduce you to 15-year-old Nitin from Oak Hill, Va. He became sick when he was 12 years old, and was diagnosed with stage four brain cancer. But the good news is that Nitin is currently recovering and gaining his strength back.
Nitin absolutely loves the D.C. area sports teams, especially the Washington Wizards. Nitin wished to be a Wizards player, and says Make-A-Wish made that dream come true. He believes that the wish allowed him to feel better and recover much faster.
He got to eat breakfast with his favorite players, warm up on the court them and went to the game after he was introduced to the starting line-up.
Nitan is just one of the amazing kids we are going to meet this month as we partner with Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic for Season of Wishes.
FOX 5 DC Cares is our station's campaign to highlight the work of charitable organizations and non-profits in our community. We hope by partnering with these groups, we can help them get their message out and reach their goals.
We are teaming up with Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic for their Season of Wishes campaign. Over the next several weeks, we will be sharing the wonderful work Make-A-Wish does in our area and how you can be part of the magic.
