Remains of Tuskegee Airman who went missing in 1944 laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery

A Tuskegee Airman who went missing in 1944 has been laid to rest in Arlington National Cemetery.

The remains of U.S. Army Air Forces Capt. Lawrence Dickson were accounted for in July 2018.

According to the Washington Post, Dickson was 24 when his plane crashed in Europe.

He was on his 68th mission, according to the post.

Dickson was buried in Arlington on Friday, with U.S. Army Col. James Tuite, a regimental commander, helping to conduct military funeral honors.

Soldiers from the 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment also participated in the ceremony.

Dickson's daughter, Marla Andrews, received the flag from her father's casket during the service.
