Puppies, abandoned in box, now 'eating like piglets'
TAMPA (FOX 13) - A litter of puppies is looking a lot better a little more than one week after they were abandoned.
A good Samaritan found these puppies in a box on the side of the road earlier this month. The Humane Society of Tampa Bay says they were emaciated, lethargic, and had skin diseases.
But, as you can see, they have a lot more energy now.
The Humane Society says their skin is healing and their hair is starting to grow back.
"They are now acting like normal, happy puppies. They are very sociable, curious and playful -- all wonderful signs of a good dispositions and recovery," HSTB's Nash McCutchen offered. "And, of course, they are eating like little piglets."
They have about three more weeks of recovery ahead of them. But after that, they'll be fixed, microchipped, and put up for adoption.
