BOWIE, Md. - A murder in the District has been connected to a kidnapping across the Maryland border in Prince George's County, according to officials.
Andre Simmons of Bowie was reportedly kidnapped at gunpoint in Prince George's County at about 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, authorities stated. DC police said the 28-year-old was found shot to death in an alley behind Atlantic Street, SE in D.C. on Wednesday.
On Thursday, investigators announced Darin Moore Jr. was arrested and charged with kidnapping in connection with Simmons' disappearance, but has not been charged in his death. Officials said Moore was taken into custody following a barricade situation in Bowie.
Prince George's County police told FOX 5 that DC police were leading the investigation.
