Prince George's County double-fatal shooting victims identified
BLADENSBURG, Md. (FOX 5 DC) - Two men who were shot to death in Prince George's County on Wednesday have been identified by authorities.
The Prince George's County Police Department said 23-year-old Jonathan Contreras of Bowie and 24-year-old Varney Batener Jr. of Hyattsville were shot to death in the town of Bladensburg.

Detectives said the shooting occurred in the 5000 block of 57th Avenue at about 5 p.m.
Contreras and Batener Jr. were found outside suffering from gunshot wounds and were taken to the hospital where they both died a short time later, according to police.

According to Bladensburg Police, there was only one homicide in their city in 2018.
Detectives are working to establish a motive and identify a suspect at this time.
