Porsche recalls over 170,000 cars due to defective rearview camera

Porsche is recalling 173,538 vehicles related to a faulty rearview camera problem.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) stated in a Dec. 19 recall notice that a rearview camera image that does not display lowers the driver's "rearward visibility," and can raise the risk of a crash.

The luxury auto manufacturer's recall affects certain 2019-2025 Cayenne and Cayenne E-Hybrid models, 2020-2025 911 and Taycan vehicles and 2024-2025 Panamera and 2025 Panamera E-Hybrid models, according to the NHTSA.

What you can do:
Owners of the recalled vehicles can take them to a Porsche dealership where the staff will handle the rearview camerae issue by updating the driver-assistance software for free.
Interim notification letters are expected to be mailed on Feb. 16, with follow-up notices sent once a final remedy is available, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
