Police searching for vehicle of interest involved in hit-and-run in Northeast DC

Police are searching for a vehicle of interest that was involved in a hit-and-run in Northeast Washington Thursday night. 

At around 9:57 p.m., police say a person was walking in the 3900 block of Benning Road, NE, when they were struck by a car.

The crash was caught on a surveillance video in the area. Watch below: 

Emergency services responded to the scene and transported the victim to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. 

Police say the driver of the vehicle fled the scene after the crash.
