Police searching for attempted sexual assault suspect

Police are offering a reward to find a suspect who tried to sexually assault a woman in her apartment building.

Police have released surveillance video of the suspect involved in the crime, which happened on Thursday March 19th at 8:20 p.m., at an apartment complex near 3rd Street and Roosevelt.

The suspect followed the woman to her apartment building after slipping through a gate before it shut. He then followed the victim to her apartment, and when she began to close the door he forced his way into her apartment and tried to drag her into a bedroom.

Fortunately the woman's roommate walked in and the suspect ran off.

He also changed his clothes before taking off.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic or Native American man in his early to mid-twenties, about five foot eight or five foot nine, about 160 pounds, and black or brown hair.
