Police search for possible armed man who prompted lockdown at Montgomery County college campus

Takoma Park Police are looking for a man they say may have been armed with a gun while inside a building on the campus of a Montgomery County college in an incident that prompted a lockdown morning.

Officers say they received a report of a man with a gun on the third floor of the Student Services Center at the Montgomery College Takoma Park-Silver Spring campus around 8 a.m. Wednesday.

Campus security cameras determined that the person left the area prior to the arrival of officers. Investigators say there was no threat to any students. The lockdown was lifted about 90 minutes later with no injuries being reported.

Police described the man as a black male, wearing a black long sleeve shirt, black pants, black shoes, wearing a camouflage backpack.
