Police: Motorcyclist dies days after Southeast DC crash

D.C. police say a motorcyclist who was injured in a crash on Good Hope Road in Southeast D.C. Tuesday evening has died.

According to police, 28-year-old Marcellus Delmar Rooths was riding his motorcycle east on the roadway when a driver behind the wheel of a Toyota 4Runner made a hard right turn off of the westbound lane.

The motorcycle and the car collided in the intersection of Good Hope Road and 16th Street.

Both the motorcyclist and the driver were taken to local hospitals.

Rooths, of Northeast D.C., died in the hospital Thursday.

Police are still investigating the crash.
