Police say a man was stabbed multiple times in front of a cheese steak shop early Sunday morning in Adams Morgan.

D.C. police say they were flagged down at around 3 a.m. Sunday at the 2400 block of Champlain Street NW by two women and a man, and told them the man had been stabbed.

Investigators say the victim was suffering from multiple stab wounds to the back and abdomen with evisceration of his intestines.

The male victim was driven by the witnesses to Howard University Hospital, where police say a detective was able to speak to them about the stabbing.

According to detectives, the two women said that they were walking from Club Heaven and Hell at 2327 18th St NW when they realized they were being followed by a group of people from the club. They say the man was stabbed at 1792 Columbia Road NW in front of a philly cheese steak shop.
