Police: Lockdown lifted after shooting on campus of Virginia State University

PETERSBURG, Va. - Police are investigating a shooting that was reported overnight on the campus of Virginia State University in Petersburg. According to authorities, one person was shot and was taken to the hospital with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

The campus briefly went on lockdown. The lockdown was lifted around two hours ago. This is the second shooting incident in less than a week that has led to a lockdown.

No other injuries were reported. There is no information at this time regarding the alleged suspect.
