Police investigating 2 reported bank robberies in Montgomery County
ROCKVILLE, Md. - Montgomery County police say they are investigating two bank robberies that reportedly took place about 10 minutes apart from each other Monday afternoon.
A police spokesperson says they received a call at around 4:23 p.m. for a report of a suspect claiming he had an explosive device at a BB&T bank in the 1000 block of Seven Locks Road in Rockville. The suspect did not get away with any money.
Ten minutes later, Montgomery County police say they received a call for another robbery at a TD Bank in the 15800 block of Shady Grove Road in Gaithersburg. The suspect in this incident got away with an undisclosed amount of money, according to police.
Police are investigating if the two incidents are connected. There is no suspect description at this time.
