Police: Car robbery suspects ram patrol car, lead officers on chase from Bowie to DC
WASHINGTON - Several people are under arrest following a chase from Prince George's County to D.C. that police say began when they responded to a report of an auto theft.
The incident happened around 3:30 a.m.in the 15400 block of Jenkins Road in Bowie, Maryland. Officers say they were able to take a man into custody after witnessing several suspects attempt to break into two separate vehicles.
While they were taking the man into custody, police say at least three other men fled to a nearby cargo van and rammed their patrol car. Police responded by firing at the van. The suspects led officers on a chase from Bowie to the 3500 block of 6th Street in southeast D.C. were two of them were taken into custody.
It is unclear what charges those taken into custody could face. No one was injured during the shooting.
