Police canvass Fairfax neighborhood after woman stabbed on path
FAIRFAX, Va. - Police are continuing their search for a man they say stabbed a woman while she was walking on a path in Fairfax.
The stabbing happened shortly after 7:30 a.m. Thursday near Vaden Drive and Sprague Avenue.
The 21-year-old victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to survive.
The suspect is a man of unknown race, about 5-foot-7-inches tall, with a medium build. He has a light to medium brown complexion and was wearing a black, hooded shirt that was pulled over his head.
Police spent hours canvassing the area which is very close to the Vienna/Fairfax-GMU Metro station. Detectives continued the search Friday morning and handed out flyers to passersby.
