Police are still searching for suspect/s responsible for a triple homicide in District Heights

DISTRICT HEIGHTS , Md. - Police are still searching for the person or people responsible for a triple homicide on Orleans Avenue in District Heights.

Investigators say five people were shot inside a home Friday, and only two survived.

The victims who died have been identified as 55-year-old Jan Marie Parks, 60-year-old Allen Rowlett and 50-year-old Carlina Renee Gray.

At last check, the two who survived the shooting were still in the hospital.

Family and friends told FOX 5 they don't know what could've prompted the violence.

Carlina Gray's sister, Meredith Bailey, said Gray was caring and generous, the kind of person always ready to offer a hot meal or place to stay.

"She was the one who kept (our family) all together," said Bailey.

A friend of Allen Rowlett, who chose not to give his name, said Rowlett was a limo driver who loved motorcycles. He said he just saw his friend last night and they had planned to go riding together.

"We want to make sure everyone understands this was a well-loved person," he said. "He's going to be missed, he really is. I miss him already. We sat on the porch all day just waiting for him to show up. Even though we know it wasn't going to happen. We were just waiting for that."

Police said the shootings don't appear to be random, but have not indicated what the motive could have been.

Like Rowlett's friend, neighbors were hesitant to give their names with the shooter or shooters still on the loose.

We found one man inspecting his home after his wife thought a bullet had hit their home Friday night.

"I don't know whether I'm going to continue to live here or not," he said.

He and other neighbors said crime is rare here, but what happened was so violent, it's causing big concerns.

"Whatever kind of activity it was, it was deadly," the man said. "It killed a lot of people, and it happened right next door to my house. I'm afraid for myself and my wife."
