Phone call sparks barricade situation in Fort Washington
FORT WASHINGTON, Md. - A barricade situation at a home in Fort Washington has ended, Prince George's County police said.
Police spokesperson Jennifer Donelan tweeted police received a call at around 3:30 p.m. reporting about a man with a gun with family members inside a home in the 1200 block of Hunters Mill Avenue. Police declared a barricade at 4 p.m. as "an abundance of caution."
Just before 6 p.m., Donelan said the barricade situation was over after police were able to make contact with the homeowners and determined everyone was safe inside the home.
Detectives are now investigating the phone call that was made to police.
