One dead after GW Parkway crash

MCLEAN, Va. - A person is dead after a single-car crash that has closed a section of the GW Parkway on Sunday morning.
The crash happened around 5:45 a.m. in McLean. The driver, who was the only occupant in the vehicle, died at the scene.
The crash closed all northbound lanes of the parkway between Virginia State Route 123 and the Capital Beltway for hours Sunday morning.
The lanes have since reopened.
Police are continuing to investigate the crash.
