RENVILLE, Minn. (FOX 13) - A teenager drove right into a hole that opened up in a Minnesota road.
The Renville County Sheriff's Office shared drone video showing the accident. Officials said a township road washed out after significant rainfall in the area. Jaxon Lang, who is 16 years old, wasn't injured, they said, mainly because he had his seatbelt on and the airbags deployed.
"I thought maybe it was a branch or something," Lang explained to WCCO. "I got closer and then I had the brakes on cause I thought something was on the road. Then, I slammed on the breaks and the car just slid into the hole and then hit the other side. Then, it just fell down."
He said he currently doesn't have a car, but "it could've been worse."
The agency wrote on its Facebook page, "Remember, always BUCKLE UP; you just never know what situation you might encounter!"
The National Weather Service said there were strong thunderstorms with the strength of producing hail and wind gusts of up to 55 mph on Tuesday.
