Metro 'pilot program' includes color-coded escalators for user-friendly commute

In what is being called a "pilot program" by WMATA, Metro has begun changing colors of escalator rails to match the color of the line they lead to.

Caught at Fort Totten Metro Station, escalators have been upgraded to display Red and Green Line colors, leading to their respective trains.

D.C. graphic designer Jen Scharl posted about it on Twitter and has gain a lot of attention from area commuters.

Metro has not said if, or when it will implement this clever and user-friendly trick in other Metro stations.
