Metro bus transit center opens in Silver Spring
WASHINGTON - (AP) -- Metro has opened a new transit center for buses next to the Silver Spring station on the red line.
The Paul S. Sarbanes Transit Center opened Sunday. Metro says its more than 30 bus bays will serve Metrobus, Montgomery County Ride-On, VanGo and the University of Maryland shuttle.
The center is named after Paul Sarbanes, a Maryland politician who served as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives from 1971 to 1977 and as a senator from 1977 to 2007.
