Court records show 34-year-old Marion Christopher Barry was released on his own recognizance after a court appearance Wednesday afternoon. He was ordered to stay away from the bank and the teller he's accused of threatening.
The younger Barry is running for his late father's D.C. Council seat. He has apologized for the bank incident on social media and pledged to remain in the race. He has been arrested at least seven times over the past four years and is currently on probation.
According to court documents, Barry threatened the teller and destroyed a security camera after he was told he couldn't withdraw money.
