Man, woman identified as 'persons of interest' in double shooting aboard DC Metrobus

Metro Transit Police say two people - a man and woman - have been identified as ‘persons of interest' in the double shooting that happened on a D.C. Metrobus.

The shooting happened around 10:20 p.m. Monday night onboard a bus that was stationary at a stop in the 100 block of H Street, northwest.

Investigators say a man exited the bus through the rear door, turned, and fired, at least one round into the vehicle.

Two men, a 21 and a 47-year-old, were injured. Both sustained non-life-threatening injuries - one to the hand and the other to the thigh.

Officers say about 40 passengers were onboard at the time of the shooting.

Cameras on the bus captured images of a male gunman who appeared to be accompanied by a female who walked away after the incident.

Transit Police detectives are seeking the public's help in identifying both subjects.

Anyone with information about the whereabouts or identity of the persons of interest is asked to call Metro Transit Police at (202) 962-2121 or text "MyMTPD" (696873).
