Man who dressed as characters for kids' parties accused of raping children

COLWYN, Pa. (WTXF) - Authorities announced the arrest of a Colwyn man who is charged with the sexual abuse and rape of children. Authorities say there are at least five victims.

According to investigators, 43-year-old Michael Cripps dressed up as characters for parties as movie/book characters, including Mickey Mouse and SpongeBob.

The Delaware County DA says Cripps is accused of taking boys into his home as young as 5 years old and sexually assaulting them. According to investigators, it's been happening for close to a decade.

"He exploits these young boys. He sexually molests these young boys. He ruins these young boys lives," Delaware County District Attorney Jack Whelan said.

Cripps is being held without bail.
