D.C. police say a shooting occurred Friday afternoon outside Friendship Collegiate Academy Public Charter School in Northeast D.C.

Police say a man was found shot inside a white car that was in front of the school in the 4000 block of Minnesota Avenue. His injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening and he was conscious and breathing at the scene.

Police have issued a lookout for a black male suspect. He is described as 5'9" tall and weighs about 130 pounds. He has dreadlocks and was wearing a tank top wrapped around his body. He was also armed with a gun with an extended clip.

ANC commissioner Tyrell Holcomb told FOX 5 that this is the fourth daytime shooting that has taken place on Minnesota Avenue since July.

"Any shooting is alarming, but shootings that are occurring in broad daylight, now with school being back in session, there are children that travel frequently up and down Minnesota Avenue, so it's very concerning and alarming and something has to be done," Holcomb said.

Less than two miles away, a teenager was wounded in separate shooting in the 300 block of Anacostia Road in Southeast D.C. at around the same time. It is unknown if these two shootings are connected.
