Man shot, killed in northeast DC

WASHINGTON - (AP) -- One man is dead after a shooting in Northeast Washington.

District of Columbia police say the shooting occurred on the 300 block of V Street at about 9:45 p.m. on Sunday.

Police say officers responded to a call reporting a shooting in the area. When they arrived, police say the officers found a man in a nearby alley suffering from a gunshot wound. He was declared dead on the scene.

Police have identified the man as 42-year-old Omar Lindsay.

The incident is under investigation.
