Man in custody after College Park barricade situation

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - A man was taken into custody after an early morning barricade situation in College Park. Investigators say the incident was reported around 4 a.m. on Carleton Terrace. Sheriff's deputies responded to the scene and surrounded a home at the location.

Images from the scene showed a man on the roof of the home that was surrounded. Sheriff's deputies were seen taking that same man into custody around 7 a.m. Family members allegedly alerted authorities to the man, who is 38 years old, after believing he was in distress. When sheriff's deputies arrived the man allegedly injured one of them. It is not clear if that man is facing an charges at this time.

Route 1 was closed in both directions near the intersection of Beechwood Road during the incident.
