Man arrested for murder of woman killed in Gainesville parking lot

GAINESVILLE, Va. - Prince William County police have arrested a 33-year-old man for the fatal shooting of a woman at a parking lot in Gainesville.

Police announced Monday they have charged Bryan Christopher Yu with first-degree murder of 26-year-old Linh Thi Pham. He is also charged with use of a firearm in commission of a felony.

According to police, Yu shot Pham while she was sitting in her car at around 6:30 p.m. Sunday in the 7300 block of Atlas Walk Way after Pham left her workplace. She was transported to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Police said Yu and Pham were acquaintances and the shooting was not random.

Yu is being held without bond.

This is Prince William County's 20th homicide this year.
