Machete-wielding woman with child at Metro station arrested, DC police say
WASHINGTON - Authorities arrested a woman they said was on Metro tracks with a young child while wielding a machete Monday morning.
Metro Transit police said they responded to McPherson Square Metro station at about midnight for reports of a woman armed with a machete.
Officials said the woman had a young child with her and was seen jumping onto the tracks then climbing back onto the platform.
The woman left the Metro station and was arrested outside McPherson Square, according to police.
There were no injuries reported during the incident.
