Lockdown lifted at White House after suspicious package cleared

WASHINGTON - A lockdown at the White House was lifted after a suspicious package was cleared Tuesday. The U.S. Secret Service tweeted that agents were investigating the package which was found near Madison and Pennsylvania Avenues.

Traffic in the area was delayed during the investigation.

No injuries were reported.
