Limited service along parts of MARC Brunswick Line Thursday after track washout

There will be limited service along parts of the MARC Brunswick Line Thursday due to rail damage, officials say.

A major track washout occurred as a result of Wednesday night's storms between Brunswick and Point of Rocks.

Officials say there will be no Brunswick Line service at Martinsburg, Duffields, Harpers Ferry, or Brunswick stations. There will be limited service at Point of Rocks.

Authorities say four of the nine trainsets that operate the Brunswick Line service are trapped at either Martinsburg or Brunswick, leaving only five to operate.

CSX is working to repair the washout, however, it is likely that full Brunswick Line service will not be restored until Monday.

Due to the service suspension on the Brunswick Line, Washington Metrorail will honor MARC tickets Thursday morning.
